Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center (LJCMC) opened its doors in 1978 as a teaching hospital providing clinical training to medical students, physicians, and allied health care personnel. LJCMC is a member of the Louisiana State University Health Care Services Division. The eight member hospital system provides training and healthcare services to the underinsured population in the state of Louisiana.
